Note:
- If any Holidays for occasions do not fall on the days notified, necessary notification, changing the date will be issued in due course.
- Additional holidays further to the above will be applicable as when declared by the University Administration.
- Summer/Winter break will be as specified in the Academic Calendar.
- Any other days as may be declared by the State Govt./Dist. Admn. Under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1888 (XXIV of 1881) as holidays will be observed.
- Silpi Divas to be celebrated on 17th Jan, 2020 from 2 pm.
- The exact date of Ambubasi Nibriti will depend on the next Assamese new calendar which is not available now.

Gauhati University Academic Calendar 2020-2021
Gauhati University officials Released the academic calendar for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students for the academic session 2020-2021.
As per GU academic Calendar 2020-2021–
- Commencement of Classes for Odd Semesters (1st, 3rd, &5th) of UG Courses in Affiliated Colleges and GU Campus will start from 01 November 2020.
- Commencement of Classes for 3rd Semester of PG Courses in GU Campus and Affiliated Colleges will also start from 01 November 2020
- Commencement of Classes for 1st Semester of PG Courses in GU Campus and Affiliated Colleges will start from 18 November 2020.
